(indystar) IFDIndianapolis children are being featured in TIME Magazine this week.

The article focuses on the St. Florian Center camp, a program run by Anthony Williamson and Earl Thompson of the Indianapolis Fire Department. The article also looks at Summer Advantage USA.

A gallery of photos on TIME.com focuses on programs that help kids continue to learn during the summer. The St. Florian camp, which began in 1992, runs for eight weeks.

Summer Advantage is open to students between kindergarten and eighth grade. It operates in a dozen sites around Indianapolis and serves 3,100 youth.

Both camps mix subjects such as math and language arts with activities such as rappelling, science experiments and exercise.

The magazine will hit newsstands on Monday.
