The funeral for Different Strokes actor Gary Coleman has been postponed. It was scheduled to take place this weekend in Utah, but a rep for the actor’s ex-wife tells TMZ.com that family is still trying to iron out their differences.
Shielia Erickson says Coleman’s ex, Shannon Price, is fighting with his estranged parents over custody of his body. Erickson says Price is the executor of Coleman’s will and has the power to make all decisions regarding the funeral and his estate. Coleman’s parents, however, dispute that claim. It was revealed earlier this week that Price and Coleman were divorced when she directed hospital officials to take the actor off of life support last Friday. This prompted questions about whether Price actually had the authority to make decisions about Gary’s health care.
This week, the Utah hospital where Coleman died said it had the paperwork to prove that she did.
