The “Riot” rapper attempted to explain to police at New York’s LaGuardia Airport that he wasn’t holding a “weapon,” however, they still took him into custody and even confiscated his gold jewelry.

“They tried to assassinate my character, they tried to assassinate my swag, it was just a negative dilemma earlier where someone misconstrued a piece of jewelry for a weapon and stuff.”

2 Chainz was initially charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon in the 4th degree. He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser unspecified charge after spending nine hours in the slammer.

2 Chainz formerly known as Tity Boi, who is featured on Nicki Minaj’s “Beez On The Trap” and G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy” tracks, thought it was a good idea to throw some old school brass knuckles in his carry-on.

As the story developed, a source close to the rapper claims that 2 Chainz wasn’t packing brass knuckles … it was just a harmless 4-finger ring — this according to sources close to the hip hop star.

The ring says “DOPE” in big letters — and sources tell TMZ, 2 Chainz rocked it no problem at an Atlanta club called the Velvet Room on Sunday.

According to sources, Chainz then flew to NYC without incident, but when he tried to leave the city today, TSA at LaGuardia Airport mistook the jewelry for a dangerous weapon.

2 Chainz was arrested at the airport for possession of a criminal weapon this afternoon when officials found the 4-finger instrument in his bag.

The Port Authority PD had no comment.

The 30-year-old athlete delivers cocky rhymes and shouts out her sister Venus on the track.

Cops are currently at Seau’s home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife. Officers were seen talking with a man who was inside the house and appeared distraught.

11:20 AM PDT – The San Diego Chargers have posted a tweet saying, “We don’t have any information right now on the Junior Seau situation. We pray he’s ok.”

11:23 AM PDT – The coroner just arrived on scene.

11:26 AM PDT – The North County Times is reporting Seau’s body was discovered by his housekeeper.

11:27 AM PDT – We’re told a 911 call came in around 10:00 AM. No word on who made the call.

11:33 AM PDT — Law enforcement sources tell us … Seau died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

11:45 AM PDT – Cops will be giving a news conference about the situation any moment — we will be streaming the audio LIVE.  

12:00 PM PDT – the San Diego Chargers just released a statement, claiming, “Everyone at the Chargers is in complete shock and disbelief right now…We ask everyone to stop what they’re doing and send their prayers to Junior and his family.”

12:06 PM PDT – Junior’s father has arrived to the scene. Family members are crying hysterically. 

Back in 2011, former NFL star Dave Duerson shot himself in the chest … and explained in his suicide note that he wanted his brain donated to a research center because he believed the blows he took to the head during his football career caused him to become mentally impaired.

Here’s how it went down … Associated Press provided a live pool feed of the funeral to media outlets around the world (including TMZ) on Saturday — but everyone had to pull the footage 24 hours later. Why?

A rep for the family confirms the family has now “agreed to license footage to several media outlets.” The rep says the family is charging “customary fees” to … “help maximize the estate for the benefit of Bobbi Kristina.”

Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ … but was seen leaving shortly thereafter. 

According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We’re told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party. 

Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney’s family was not having it.

Floyd was arrested for the incident in September 2010 after his ex-girlfriend accused him of hitting her “multiple times in the head with his fist” and then threatening to kill her. Floyd allegedly was fired up after she told him she was dating someone new.

Floyd struck a plea deal in order to drop the felony battery charge by pleading guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence for beating his ex-girlfriend. He also plead no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges, after he allegedly threatening to abuse his children during the incident.

In addition to his jail sentence Floyd was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service and a 12-month domestic violence program and was fined $2,500.
