EXCLUSIVE: Sir The Baptist On Church Groupies, Working With Chance The Rapper, & Becoming An Ordained Minister

Video

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/7MkfPa24HWw service=youtube width=660 height=350 type=iframe]

Growing up on the South Side of Chicago is no easy feat for a young Black boy, but neither is growing up a preacher’s kid.

Meet music newcomer Sir The Baptist, a 28-year-old artist who’s inspiring youth to become their best selves through music and morality.

While promoting phrases like “take your ass to church” may prompt deacons and bishops within the religious community to reach for their holy water, Sir The Baptist maintains his messaging is most effective when attempting to effect change and promote positivity within a millennial space.

“I realized that I could blend the two [genres] if I was honest,” Sir explained. “I had to make sure I had a piece of spirituality that connected to people, but also a piece of realism that keeps us current in our ideologies.”

With artists like Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, and Lecrae actively incorporating and blending gospel and religion in a secular genre like hip-hop, Sir’s emergence couldn’t have come at a better time.

We met up with the Bronzeville native outside Second Canaan Baptist Church in Harlem, New York to discuss his movement as an “urban preacher,” as well as his responsibility to exhibit what an “urban preacher” actually looks like.

Sir The Baptist also discussed becoming an ordained minister, taboo happenings in the church – including groupies – and working with Chicago’s shining star, Chance The Rapper.

Sir The Baptist’s debut project Preacher’s Kid is due out later on this month. In the meantime, watch our exclusive interview up top.

Child prodigy alert!

A Facebook post shared by Because Of Them We Can is making the rounds, showing a 1-year-old superstar drummer named LJ in a marvelous display of talent.

The original video was posted by LJ’s father, Justin Wilson, who said this is the toddler’s response every time his favorite song comes on.

As the groove starts, LJ gets hyped up with an infectious “Ohh yeah!,” followed by an enthusiastic countdown and a breakdown to the beat. His parents can be heard in the background egging him on.

We just can’t get enough. Check out the above video.

K. Michelle Gets Buck Wild In New “Ain’t You” Video

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/-JbEG5SS1bI service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

K. Michelle‘s new visual for More Issues Than Vogue cut “Ain’t You” is so sexy it would’ve been on BET Uncut back in the day.

In a bevy of NSFW lingerie ensembles and a wild bob, Kimberly takes things slow as she shows her chocolate eye candy what she’s really made of. Backing that ass up all over the young hunk, the singer and reality star finds herself in a slew of compromising positions, and at one point her male friend’s head can be found just beside her lady parts.

Things get hectic when Kimberly’s seen riding a chandelier in the dark, and doubly sensual when two other women join in on the fun and give her male co-star a three-part lap dance while K. straddles him.

Make sure your boss isn’t lurking when you watch it all go down above. Did we mention she drips hot candle wax all over the guy’s chest?

Noochie “Gutta” (NEW VIDEO)

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/QuV8eRIKP6E service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

Twenty-year-old DMV native Noochie took the industry by storm after the Soundcloud for his song “Gutta” hit over a million views.

Produced by KC The Beat Monster and the Grammy-winning She’kspere, the track delivers that familiar trap sound with its hard lifting bass lines—but the icing on the cake is the uplifting message about staying off the streets and pulling his people out the gutter.

Noochie raps, “My OG’s told me they bet’ not ever catch me out here banging and trapping/ Because you the one to get us outta here, so they told me to stick to this rapping.”

This is turn-up ready without any of the preachiness that can be found in some “stay positive” songs. Consider it a blessing to the ears and enjoy the premiere of the video for “Gutta” above.

Also, check out Noochie’s Soundcloud for additional fire tracks like “Memory,” “The Interview,” and more.

Five Celebrities Allegedly Tied To The Illuminati

Free Masonry. The third eye. Distorted Crosses. Pyramids. Baphomet. Just a few images and symbols that set off red alarms for Illuminati conspiracy theorists.

We’ve gathered the top five musicians riddled with Illuminati rumors. Some have used tongue-in-cheek references to contest involvement with the world-order, while others have flat-out denied any connection.

Madonna

2016 Billboard Music Awards - Show

The pop icon has been at the center of Illuminati rumors throughout her elongated career. She even released a song called “Illuminati” on her 2015 album Rebelheart, a conspiracy theorist’s dream, in which she names fellow celebrities allegedly on the Illuminati watch list. She sings, “It’s like everybody in this party, shining like Illuminati,” poking fun at her haters in the chorus of the song.

The Carters

Oklahoma City Thunder v Los Angeles Clippers

While constantly dissecting the symbolism in their shows and lyrics, including the Roc sign they throw up, Illuminati conspiracy theorists are convinced the power couple are head honchos in the secret society. Like Madonna, Jay Z addressed rumors via song, teaming up with fellow rapper Rick Ross on “Free Mason.” Both Jay Z and Beyoncé have sideswiped theorists throughout their careers, but the naysayers just can’t stop, won’t stop.

Rihanna

2016 Billboard Music Awards - Arrivals

Roc Nation’s pop princess has seen a fever pitch of Illuminati rumors as her career sky-rocketed over the last 10 years. But the pop star rarely addresses the rumors and instead keeps releasing hits. She may be too busy posting pics on the ‘Gram showcasing her lavish life with family and friends.

Kanye West

British Vogue's Centenary Gala Dinner - Drinks Reception

The rapper who people love to hate fights off constant rumors of the occult. In interviews and songs, the Chicago native has spoken of his Christian faith, but that’s not enough to keep the watchful eye of theorists off him. In a 2015 interview with Paper Magazine, Kanye said:

“I’m tired of people pinpointing musicians as the Illuminati. That’s ridiculous. We don’t run anything; we’re celebrities. We’re the face of brands. We have to compromise what we say in lyrics so we don’t lose money on a contract.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs

Puff Daddy And The Family Bad Boy Reunion Tour Presented By Ciroc Vodka And Live Nation - May 21

Diddy rounds out the list with a career in music spanning over 25 years. Known for his boisterous personality and enjoyment of excess, like Kanye, the rap mogul has been very vocal about his belief in God, and posts daily inspirational messages on social media. Right now, he may be too busy to address Illuminati believers. He’s headlining the Bad Boy Reunion Tour and is currently traveling the nation.

T-Pain Will Now Use His Voice To Guide You On ‘Waze’

Gig-It Launch Party

T-Pain’s voice is awesome. He’s been using it for years to give listeners something to dance with and have a good time. Whether it’s warbled by auto-tune or sung in its natural state, the “Tallahassee Hero” has been serenading fans since he first jumped into national popularity with his song about falling in love with strippers.

Though he’s been off the national radar, he’s still be finding ways to use his voice. And it appears that Waze just afforded T-Pain an opportunity to be with us in our cars, although in a way we might not have thought. Waze, a navigational app, has tapped Pain to be one of their newest celebrity voice options for the app.

“Waze announced today that rapper T-Pain is the newest celebrity voice option for drivers to use on the popular traffic and navigational app. His free (apparently Auto-Tuned) voice is only available for an as-yet-undisclosed limited time, so drive to as many swanky nightclubs and after-parties as humanly possible before it’s too late.”

As for T-Pain’s musical pursuits, he’s been releasing music at a somewhat steady clip this year. In February, he gave fans “Do Dat Sh*t.” Last month, he dropped the super catchy “Hundred Mo Dolla$.”
