(via TMZ) Fact is indeed stranger than fiction.  Shamont Lyle Sapp–a prisoner serving time in Oklahoma for 10 bank robberies–has filed a lawsuit against Jamie Foxx and Tyler Perry claiming that he gave them the idea for “Skank Robbers” but was cut out of the project.  According to court documents, Sapp says he came up with the idea to reunite  Sheneneh (Martin Lawrence), Wanda (Foxx) and Madea (Perry) into one movie.  But Sapp’s original concept wasn’t a bank robbery.  Sapp’s  plot line goes as follows:

“A male white mental patient takes Madea hostage … He deals with phone calls from the negotiators, as Madea actually pleads for her life in a very sad tear-jerking way … Her pleas are to be very sad. No jokes at all.”

Foxx and Martin did “Skank Robbers” skit for the 2009 BET Awards, a month before Sapp claims to have pitched his idea.

Sapp is demanding $1 million each from Perry and Foxx.  Doesn’t sound like this lawsuit will go very far. What say you readers?

According to reports, Fox has decided to pull the plug on comedy Affion Crockett’s sketch comedy show In The Flow.

Although the Fox network hasn’t given an official word, the Jamie Foxx produced show, which premiered on August 14th, 2011 and has aired just six episodes, more than likely the show won’t be seen on Fox again.

In a recent interview with Hip Hollywood, Crockett spoke briefly about the cancellation and discussed his plans to take the show elsewhere or self produce it himself.

The actor and singer, who will also perform at the Millennium Stadium gig on October 8, has said he is “truly honoured” to be involved with the project, according to MTV News.

He commented:
Michael was larger than life and I have admired him, honoured him, joked about him but always loved and respected him… I hope I honour his legacy in a way that would make him laugh and cry.

However, the concert, which has been hit by a series of hitches, has reportedly faced more problems due to slow ticket sales.

Facebook group Fans Against Forever Michael Tribute has claimed that ticketholders have been sent an email detailing a drop in prices, with some tickets apparently slashed by up to 50 per cent.

Smokey Robinson, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Craig David are among the artists on the bill at the gig, with Beyonce performing via a live satellite link-up. Kiss were originally slated to appear but were removed from the bill over complaints about derogatory comments made about the King Of Pop by bassist Gene Simmons.

The concert has divided opinion in the Jackson family – the singer’s mother Katherine and siblings La Toya, Tito, Marlon and Jackie are thought to be behind it, while Jermaine and Randy have described it as inappropriate and ill-timed.

This is mainly because the man accused of causing Jackson’s death in 2009, Dr Conrad Murray, is due to be standing trial at the same time as the gig is taking place.

Meanwhile, Tito and sister Rebbie Jackson will be undertaking a 24-date UK and Ireland tour in March 2012 to pay their own tribute to their late brother

Affion Crockett is great at imitating rappers, but has no desire to mess with that side of the industry. While the actor and comedian has several mixtapes under his belt,  he’s keeping comedy his focus for the moment.

“I don’t love the rap industry enough to want to be a part of it,” he says. “I’d rather just be a fan and  listen to other guys put out albums. I’d rather focus on my acting. But the guys that know [I rhyme] matter, like Redman, Method Man, 9th Wonder and Talib, they know that I’m an MC. It means more that they know. A lot of actors want to do the Jamie Foxx thing, but not every artist can cross over.”

(via CNN ENTERTAINMENT) At the L.A. premiere of Horrible Bosses last week, actor Jamie Foxx shared his thoughts on his upcoming project Django Unchained.  Written and (soon to be) directed by Quentin Tarantino, Foxx will play Django, a freed slave who with the help of German bounty hunter  (Christopher Waltz), sets off on a mission of revenge to rescue his lady love Broomhilda, from the clutches of evil plantation owner Calvin Candle (Leonardo DiCaprio). Samuel Jackson will play Stephen, Candle’s right hand man.

On being cast in the titular role, Foxx told CNN: “I think, just to be able to work with Quentin Tarantino and Samuel Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and to be able to tell a story that needs to be told.  If you’re a fan of  Inglorious Basterds, I mean, you know.. It’s just amazing. It should be [an] amazing [thing].”

Django Unchained is slated for a Christmas 2012 release.
