Sienna Wilson isn’t a baby anymore. She’s a growing tot whose sense of style is developing. In this adorable video, you can see Sienna helping her dad Russell Wilson style her hair while listening to gospel music on Sunday morning.

Russell, who is a top candidate for our dad of the year, can be seen brushing his baby girl’s textured hair into a ponytail and leaving out two curly tendrils for Sienna’s bang.

You can hear Sienna suggest her dad use styling cream from ORS Olive Oil before displaying her growing independence and assisting her father with securing her pink scrunchie. Ciara posted the clip on Instagram with the caption, “My Beautiful Black Man and My Beautiful Black Princess. Worship and Hairstyling #Sunday”

Sienna looked adorable in a pink and white tutu dress, which shows she knows how she likes her hair and how she likes her clothes.

When Russell isn’t showing off his skills styling Sienna’s curls, mommy Ciara is tending to Sienna and Future Jr’s kiddie tresses.

(Even though Future Jr. recently cut off his hair to mimic his idol Michael Jordan).

If you’re down with the revolution, put your fist in the air. Kelis is showing her solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement in her own creative way. The Boss singer and chef is sporting a new do that features a red, green and black fist in the back of her blonde cut.

She captioned the elegant image, “Red for my peoples blood that was spilled. Black we are the people. Green for the land that is ours. I ❤my people.”

Kelis’ stylish statement comes at the height of protests around the nation in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

The Grammy nominated singer recently called out the music industry for being hypocrites and sharing their support for the Black community while robbing Black artists. She shared a post from Josh Kun that read,

“If the music industry wants to support Black lives, labels and platforms can start with amending contracts, distributing royalties, diversifying boardrooms and retroactively paying back all the Black artists, and their families, they have built their empires on.”

Kelis isn’t the only celebrity using her platform to call out other influencers and industries for their hypocritical behavior. Jackie Aina recently joined Uoma Beauty in challenging big brands to reveal the number of women of color in executive positions at their company. The 72 hour #PullUpAndShutUp challenge was created to expose racial inequality in professional settings.

Countless amounts of celebrities have taken to the front lines of the protests to march with the people. See them, here.

Bronner Brothers Iconic Beauty Show Cancelled, But Plans To Go Virtual

2016 Bronner Brothers Beauty Show - Day 2

If you have ever been to a Bronner Brothers International Beauty Show, you know that hair isn’t just about how you style you it for work or a date, Black hair is an art form.

The annual event is also a place to get your hands on the best new hair products and tools, catch a glimpse of the hottest stylists and meet other like minds in the game. But, like many other large events such as Essence Fest and the Met Gala, this year’s Bronner Brothers show has also been canceled, the first time in its 74-year history.

Thanks, COVID-19!

But…don’t fret: Not only are Bronner Brothers refunding money for all the folks that registered, but they are also taking their show to the virtual world. While the in-person event as supposed to be held in early August in Atlanta, hair lovers and professionals can still enjoy the show online on Sunday, August 9, and Monday, August 10.

James Bronner, SVP of Show Operations, stressed that his father if he was still alive, would have approved of the virtual component as a way to make sure the show still goes on.

“If my father, Nathaniel Bronner, Sr., was here, he would challenge us to find a way to maximize this moment. So, the show must go on,” Bronner said in a press release.

Adding, “Our goal is to help the Black beauty industry stay inspired, engaged, and educated. We have faced challenges before, and there is no doubt that we will come out of this better and stronger—because we’re in this together.”

According to Hype Hair, Bronners will have the following virtual components:

  • Connect: A digital market will be available to exhibitors and buyers, where they can preview live demos of new products and services for sale
  • Elevate: Advanced educational classes on cut, color, weaves, natural haircare and other techniques, all presented by leading master instructors
  • Learn: A series of webinars on topics such as financial health, how to safely re-open your salon or barbershop, how to disaster proof your business, and maintaining your health behind-the-chair
  • Showcase: A hallmark of BB Shows, competitions will be live-streamed in an exciting and fun display of the industry’s top talent.

Despite the state of Georgia slowly reopening, we don’t blame Bronner Brothers for canceling their popular highly attended event. With more than 30,000 attendees last year, social distancing at the Georgia World Congress Center would have been impossible. It’s nice to see an organization put public health before their profits.

During this time we would be attending graduations and celebrating the accomplishments of those completing a level on their educational journey. But, due to COVID-19 graduations and celebrations have been cancelled/postponed to later dates.

Gabrielle Pierce spent four years at Xavier University in Louisiana and was excited to walk across the stage. She told a local news station, “Initially I was upset, I was crying. It took me like a week to stop crying. I really wanted to walk, I felt like I needed to walk.” Her dad, Torrence Burson, was upset and decided to still grant his daughter the opportunity to walk across the stage.

He told the local news station, “I went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night and said, ‘that’s it. I’m just going to be the graduation here.”

Burson turned their family driveway into a real-life commencement ceremony. He made sure to include a podium, a stage, a procession, invocation, national anthem, welcome, song, commencement address, followed by granting his daughter her degree. The neighbors also lined the streets and participated as a live audience.

“It was just amazing. Better than the actual graduation, because it was more personal,” said Pierce.

Documents show that under Paycheck Protection Program Fayne applied for a $3,735,500 loan for his Georgia company called Flame Trucking. In the application Fayne said the money would be used for retaining workers, maintain payroll and mortgage and utility payments. The bank gave him $2 million, which he allegedly used to buy $85,000 in jewelry and spent another $40,000 for child support. Fayne has denied using the  Paycheck Protection Program to any other the things he is accused of.

Quarantine Haircuts: Fantasia and Her Son’s Matching Fades Are The Cutest!

For Mother’s Day, Fantasia and her son were total twinsies!

The “Sketchbook” singer and former American Idol winner recently showed off their matching fades on social media.

“Mother’s Day haircuts by my Baby Sis @ifadedher,” she wrote on Instagram kissing her 9-year-old son Dallas Xavier Barrino.

We can’t lie, that line is fire!

Now given that barbershops in North Carolina, which is where Fantasia, her family and her barber, Ashley Matus, live have been closed and will remain so for the next few weeks, thanks to the coronavirus, we can only assume that Matus did a home drop-by to give the duo these fabulous fades.

From looking at Ashley’s page, not only is she talented, but she seems to be using some type of precautions when styling clients’ hair during the crisis. (But remember, you can’t cut hair 6 feet apart)

Now, Fantasia, who has always had short hair, but much longer on top and with a relaxer, but now, it seems that the 35-year-old has gone natural.

On March 18, she debuted her newer look…and we love it!
