Andrew Luck is throwing the football again.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport tweeted out the news Tuesday morning after Colts coach Frank Reich told him during the coach’s breakfast at the Annual League Meeting that Luck began throwing a football.

As Rapport mentioned, this is a notable step in Luck’s offseason process after he missed all last year with a shoulder injury.

According to ESPN, Colts owner Jim Irsay  told reporters that “all indicators are healing is going really well” in Luck’s continued rehabilitation from his January 2017 right shoulder surgery.

“We feel optimistic that he’s turned the corner and has a full decade ahead of him of excellence,” Irsay said during the NFL’s owners meetings on Monday in Orlando, Florida.

Luck hasn’t played in a football game since Jan. 1, 2017 and we can’t wait to see him back on the field with his teammates.

Report: Colts Sign Former Lions Tight End Eric Ebron

Detroit Lions v Cincinnati Bengals

Source: Joe Robbins / Getty

The Indianapolis Colts made a splash in free agency Monday night when they announced the signing of tight end Eric Ebron.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the news on Twitter, noting that the deal could be a two-year deal worth as much as $15 million.

Ebron was selected by the Detroit Lions with the 10th overall choice in 2014 NFL Draft. He started 37 games and made 186 receptions for 2,070 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Las week, the Lions decided to release the tight end, rather than pay him $8.25 million this upcoming season.

Nevertheless, he is a Indianapolis Colt now and quarterback Andrew Luck will now have two tight end options in Ebron and Jack Doyle, who made 80 receptions for Indianapolis this past season.

Enron spoke about his new home in Indy on a conference call with Indy Star.

Via Indy Star

I fell in love with the coaching staff and I fell in love with the GM,” Ebron said on a conference call shortly after signing his deal. “That’s what kind of pushed the envelope for me to want to be here. Everyone showed love and a lot of support for my game and my family and the things that I wanted to accomplish. It was something I prayed on and I asked for a symbol, a light, and that’s exactly what happened on this visit. It was a no brainer after that.”

Josh McDaniels Withdraws From Colts’ Head Coaching Job?

Divisional Round - Tennessee Titans v New England Patriots

Earlier today, the Indianapolis Colts announced that New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels would be their new head coach, with a introduction press conference scheduled for Wednesday.

However, not it looks like that won’t be the case. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, McDaniels will not be coming to Indy to coach the Colts but instead will be staying with the Patriots as the offensive coordinator. See his tweets below:

Schefter, went on to elaborate about McDaniels decision to stay in New England, and not come to Indy.

Via ESPN

This wasn’t a decision about money. The truth is, McDaniels has been vacillating on this decision throughout the interview process, ever since meeting with the Colts on wild-card weekend. It is the reason a second meeting with Colts officials and team owner Jim Irsay was held. McDaniels was trying to get comfortable with the idea of taking his family out of New England and moving it to Indianapolis.

Throughout the process, McDaniels had emphasized to the Colts that he would need time to mull the decision and discuss it with his family. The more McDaniels reflected on potentially having the opportunity to coach the Colts, the more it did not feel right to him and the better it felt to remain in New England. McDaniels still would like to become a head coach again, but this time, in this instance, he was not comfortable.

As Pro Football Talk noted, this turn of events shouldn’t be a shocked, since there was chatter that McDaniels might turn down the Colts job.

Via Pro Football Talk

PFT reported on Super Bowl Sunday that there was significant chatter among people in the know that McDaniels might turn down the Colts job. And McDaniels has repeatedly refused to confirm that he’s taking the job, despite the many reporters asking him Colts-related questions before and after the Super Bowl.

Colts have released a statement about McDaniels’ decision.

After agreeing to contract terms to become the Indianapolis Colts’ new head coach, New England Patriots assistant coach Josh McDaniels this evening informed us that he would not be joining our team. Although we are surprised and disappointed, we will resume our head coaching search immediately and find the right fit to lead our team and organization on and off the field.

The scheduled press conference at Lucas Oil Stadium will not take place tomorrow. More information will be forthcoming.

Indianapolis Colts inside linebacker Edwin Jackson was killed early Sunday morning after being hit by a driver along the side of Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.

According to the Indy Star, the police said Jackson and 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe of Avon were standing near a stopped vehicle when a black Ford F-150 pickup truck drove onto the emergency shoulder and struck them both.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 37-year-old Alex Cabrera Gonsales of Indianapolis, tried to flee the scene on foot and is suspected of being intoxicated.

The Colts signed Jackson to their practice squad back in December of 2015. During the 2016 season, he started eight of the 16 games that he played in, before being sidelined this past season with an injury.

Indianapolis Colts posted a statement about Jackson’s unfortunate death on Twitter. See the post below:
