Ne-Yo and Monyetta didn’t spend all of their money in Magic City. As many songs and hits that Ne-Yo has written and produced, that was definitely pocket change. The mother of his 2 kids, Monyetta Shaw, has teamed up with Chanita Foster (who has a charity that provides food, clothing, and education to deprived children) to adopt 48 kids in Swaziland.

Originally, Shaws plan was to send money over to the kids, but after seeing the faces of the kids, she had to adopt 48 for about $17,000. The children will not be hoping on a jet to come over to the US, but the money will provide them with food, clothes, and education for a year.

The actor announced the starting lineups, adding fabricated personal notes about each player. For example, Ferrell remarked that New Orleans guard Marco Belinelli (who hails from Bologna) “hates Italian food.”

As for Carlos Boozer, the 6-foot-9, 266-pound Bulls forward? The 10-year veteran “still lives with his mother,” according to Ferrell.

Afterward, Boozer said it was hard not to laugh at Ferrell’s remark: “We’re all Will Ferrell fans – one of the funniest dudes of our generation, man.”

Nate moved into CareMeridian’s treatment facility after suffering his second stroke in 2008. In legal papers obtained by TMZ, CareMeridian claimed the singer received more than $290,000 in medical treatment from 2008 until 2010, and one of Nate’s managers, David Michery, personally guaranteed the facility would get paid.

But according to the lawsuit, the check never came even after Nate died on March 15, 2011. Now, the court has entered a default judgment against Nate’s estate and Michery, ordering them to pay $293,512.52.

A source has told TMZ is reporting that M.I.A. will end up paying any fines imposed on NBC as a result of her finger wag during the Super Bowl halftime show. The source says the NFL has indemnified NBC … because the NFL is responsible for the halftime content. But the NFL was smart, given the history of performers who wanted to do something shocking to get attention during the biggest TV event of the year. M.I.A. signed a contract with the NFL for the halftime performance, and in that contract M.I.A. agreed to indemnify the NFL for any money it might be forced to pay if the FCC comes down on the Peacock Network.

The whole “flippin’ of the bird” may have been just a bit too much for the International Star. The New York Daily News reports that M.I.A. has left the Big Apple to spend time away from the Super Bowl scandal in her hometown of London. It is also being reported she has seperated from her fiance Benjamin Bronfman.

A source told the website that M.I.A. sometimes goes six weeks without seeing” Ikhyd and appears to be living a separate life from Benjamin, who was also reportedly seen on a date with a mystery woman last week.

Kyle was interviewing Max, an 85-pound Argentine Mastiff, his owner, and a firefighter, who rescued Max from an icy pond on Tuesday, when she was bitten in the face.

Firefighters, paramedics and animal control were immediately called to the station.

Kyle was taken to Denver Health Medical Center. The hospital says Kyle, “is currently in fair condition and is being evaluated by the trauma team. She is awake and visiting with family who asked that we thank the community for their immediate outpouring of support.”

Kyle says she wants everyone to know that she is okay and is concerned about the viewers who were watching the incident live on TV.

Doug Kelley, the director of Denver Animal Care and Control, says Max’s owner will be cited because the dog bit someone, for a leash law violation, because the owner did not have control of the dog at all times, and for not having Max vaccinated for rabies.

Kelley says Max is not showing signs of rabies.

Max is being held at the Denver Animal Shelter and will be quarantined for 10 days, according to Kelley. He says they will reevaluate the situation on Feb. 18 or 19.

Jefferson County Animal Control says the animal and the owner have not been cited in their jurisdiction before. Max’s owner will appear in court on April. 4.

When Billboard magazine put together their annual “Power 100 List,” Hip Hop took a few prominent positions in the form of Jay-Z (listed with wife Beyonce) and “Birdman” (listed with co-founder/co-CEO Ronald “Slim” Williams).

Jay-Z and Beyonce took the highest spot of any Hip Hop/R&B contributors by being listed together at the number 13 slot. And Brian and Ronald Williams weren’t far behind at the number 25 spot.

The Williams Brothers have been responsible for selling over 75 million records since signing a $30 million pressing and distribution deal with Universal back in 1998. Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Drake, DJ Khaled and Nicki Minaj all record under either the Cash Money or YMCMB umbrella. The pair have also negotiated book deals and a YMCMB debit card all while eyeing a bigger haul.

“We dominate Rap, but we need to dominate R&B,” Birdman told Billboard. “We need to dominate Pop, Gospel, Country—we’re a brand so we should be able to put out all these types of music. We just got to keep grinding.”

Now, Ericka Lee, revealing herself to be Drake’s ex-girlfriend, has stepped up, saying she was the voice on the other end of the phone call. The woman is now suing Drake for excluding her from sharing co-writer royalties on one of his biggest recent hits.

Lee filed the lawsuit last week in California federal court claiming the two had a romantic and business partnership between early-2010 and mid-2011. During the relationship, the two are said to have traded poems and song lyrics and discussed joint creative projects.

Last year, Drake allegedly agreed to work with Lee on “Marvin’s Room” and split the proceeds. Lee says she was asked to record the song’s “hook” as well as the opening monologue that would serve as the thematic framework for a song about Drake’s yearning for an ex-girlfriend and how his fame interfered with his love life.
