Today is September 4, 2010. That means 29 years ago today the newly dubbed Queen of Pop (argue amongst yourselves), Beyonce Giselle Knowles, was born.

While Beyonce lounged around her fancy apartment, sipping wine, and enjoying the day that gave so many artists someone to aspire to, we sifted through our personal collection of rare photos from magazine clippings dating way back to the start of Beyonce’s career with Destiny’s Child. We might have even found the photo capturing the very first time a 16-year-old Beyonce met her future husband, Jay-Z (above).
