This week started off with a glimpse of the rigged relationship on one of America’s prestigious universities, Univ. of Missouri. Tensions have been on their campus for quite sometime as a result of the lack-luster race relations but, we were just exposed to these issues on Monday. President of the University, Timothy Wolfe, announced his resignation on Monday after being the center of disapproval for the state of race relations on campus.

After Wolfe’s resignation, the campus erupted as another staff member announced their resignation as well and threats were made against the African American students on campus. As expected, Presidential candidates began weighing in on the unrest on the campus and Republican hopeful, Donald Trump, was one of the first ones to discuss it:

When asked about the resignations on Mizzou’s staff Trump responded, “I think it’s just disgusting. I think the two people who resigned are weak, ineffective people,” on Fox News Thursday morning. “When they resigned, they set something in motion that’s going to be a disaster for the next long period of time.”

He also continued on about the protester’s demand for change calling it, ‘crazy’,”Many of those things are like crazy,” he said.

Crossing partisan lines, Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders weighed in on Twitter:

A Hillary Clinton staffer, Marlon Marshall tweeted:

The tweet was re-tweeted by Hillary Clinton.

Republican hopeful, Ben Carson, also cashed in on the conversation on Fox News:

“It’s OK to disagree with people, but it’s not OK to destroy them. People are so frightened of the politically correct police that they are willing to do things that are irrational in order to appease them. I believe it’s going to be necessary for those people who truly believe in our system, who believe in our Constitution, who believe in our principles and values that made America great, to be willing to stand up.”

America will continue to watch the University of Missouri and we will continue to wish the safety of the students and faculty.
