City of Inkster names new interim police chief
The city of Inkster named a new interim police chief Tuesday.
The city announced Dr. Joseph Thomas Jr. as interim chief. He is the former chief of the Southfield Police Department.
Vickie Yost was the interim chief in Inkster, but she resigned last month amid a department investigation following the traffic stop beating of Floyd Dent in January … click here more details.

Two more Inkster police officers are suspended after a January 28 video arrest shows Floyd Dent beaten, kicked and tasered.
Dent had cuts and a fractured orbital.

Detroit man competent to stand trial in wife’s slaying; 2 children still missing
A Detroit man charged with killing his estranged wife has been ordered to trial after a judge heard testimony from a key witness in the case.
Alicia Fox’s body was found last June in a vacant house. Her two children, 6-year-old daughter Kaylah Hunter and 8-month-old Kristian Justice, remain missing.
The woman’s relatives think Erin Justice, who is Kristian’s father, knows where the children are, although he hasn’t been charged in their disappearance … click here for more details.
Election results: Michigan voters decide ‘No’ on Proposal 1; other results
Michigan voters made their voice heard, soundly defeating Proposal 1 which would have increased the state sales/use tax from 6 percent to 7.
Gov. Rick Snyder and others campaigned hard for a yes vote but most polls showed that Michigan voters were against the plan that would provide additional money for roads and transportation purposes ... click here for more details.
