Cash Money Records rapper Glasses Malone enlists the talent of fellow Cali native Kendrick Lamar on a new cut titled “Thuggin’.”
The track opens up with audio from an old Tupac Shakur interview explaining the concept of thug life.
“I’ve been practicing my whole life to life my life and to be responsible for what I do. I don’t know how to be responsible for what every black male thinks…I don’t know. I guess I am going to say I’m a thug, because I came from the gutter and I’m still here.”
Like Glasses, Kendrick Lamar is also a staunch Tupac Shakur fan and created a faux interview with him on his acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly.
“I’ma motherf*ckin thug, I hate paying taxes (just hate it)/ I’m tryna f*ck a couple actresses/ If I don’t got it, I’ma make it/ still don’t got it, I’ma take it (run that sh*t),” raps Glasses Malone.
