Jay-Z & Kanye West have their perspective on the allegations that they stole music for “Watch The Throne”, saying they have no reason to steal music.

A bit of back story is that last year, a man named Joel Mac filed a federal lawsuit against Jay Z, Kanye West & Frank Ocean, accusing them of stealing his music for their hit song, “Made in America’.

He explained that when he found out that the trio were staying at the Mercer Hotel in New York to record for the album, “Watch The Throne”, he stood outside in hopes he could hand them some of his music.

Mac says that a guy named Mike Dean bought one of his CDs outside the hotel. He explains that Dean turned out to be a music producer and once WTT was released, he soon discovered his song “Made in America” was on the album without credit or payment. He filed the copyright infringement lawsuit demanding profits made from hit album.

Then on February 25th, Kanye West and Jay-Z responded to the man’s lawsuit over their song. They say that the only similarities the man claims are the same title, references to Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X along with similar rhythms.

However, the rappers explain the two songs share little resemblance and they are drastically different when it comes to style, theme, melody and the lyrics.
