The Web Clowns Iggy Azalea’s “Best Hip-Hop” Win; She Responds
Iggy Azalea has had a turbulent relationship with Hip-Hop for years. Most cannot deny that she knows how to make a hit record, but her authenticity as an artist has been questioned several times, as well as her skills on the mic. Still, when it comes to awards season, many times the more popular/mainstream acts take home the prize, as many feel was the case last night when Iggy beat out lyrical tyrant Eminem and Hip-Hop’s golden child, Drake, to take home the trophy.
While Em and Drizzy have both reached and surpassed mainstream success as well, many feel their roots within the culture are a little deeper, and that they are both simply better than Iggy. Much of Twitter and Instagram agrees with this notion and sounded off on all of social media, with Iggy responding to one fan she deemed a “hater” for questioning her win.
Bette Midler Ariana, You Don’t Have To Be a Whore
Bette Midler just took direct aim and fired at Ariana Grande, telling her she acts like a whore for nothing.
Midler did an interview with The Telegraph, grousing about the state of the music biz. She’s particularly disgusted with Grande, saying, “It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch.”
Midler goes on, “… Looking so ridiculous. I mean it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it.”
And then the punch. In giving advice to aspiring singers, Midler says, “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead.”
It’s interesting. In the 70s Midler was considered to have one of the raunchiest acts around.
Jim Jones Claims Dame Dash Owes Him “A Lot of Money”
Jim Jones has been airing out his feelings for Dame Dash on social media in recent months, and the rapper now allegedly claims that Dame owes him money. The Dipset rapper made the admission while commenting on a post that Hot 97 host Cipha Sounds put up.
The radio personality shared a flyer that read, “Dame Dash Owes Me Money,” and someone from Jim’s official Instagram account made a comment.
