Wilhelmina model and former “American Idol” songstress, Joanne Borgella recently announced on her Facebook page that she’s been diagnosed with cancer. In the video above, Joanne can be seen lying in a bed wearing a hospital robe and tells the camera, “Hello guys, I wanted to share some news… It may come to a shock to all of you but I know God is with me! The news comes as a shock to us all! Joanne says she’s been to the doctor regularly, but this rare case of cancer that’s spread into her chest was still unexpected. Even with a family history of cancer, you still don’t think it could happen to you. Joanne’s positive energy will hopefully help her through this tough time.
“Everything happens for a reason and I believe this was part of my journey in life,” Joanne said. “And I went through it with my mother and she’s a winner. I ask everyone to just pray for me, because the power of prayer truly, truly does work.”
