*Murder is murder when you right down to it. Whether it’s Trayvon or the Notorious B.I.G.
Singer Faith Evans recently pointed out a significant difference in the case of her former husband, the late rapper Biggie Smalls and that of Trayvon Martin.
Both murders shook up the community for different reasons and both left behind family members who were still hoping for justice. But the difference is the Martin family is still struggling with the “not guilty” verdict that set free the man who killed their unarmed son. Faith is still wondering who shot Biggie.
“Unlike my situation—with us still trying to find the person that killed our loved one—they know who did it and even though he’s not brought to justice, I’m sure that’s a different feeling than not really knowing or not having that person right there on the stand,” she told HipHollywood.com.
The Notorious B.I.G. death in 1997 was said to have been a tragic result of the infamous East Coast vs. West Coast beef. No arrest was ever made in the case although fingers were pointed towards the members of Death Row.
Though she’s not found justice, Faith hopes the Martin family will find theirs.
“I do still continually pray for his family. It’s a tragic situation,” she said. “I hope that they do find the justice that they’re looking for.”
