Youtube brought in the big guns to close out their Upfront event at the Beacon Theater. Jay-Z surprised fans with a performance of the state anthem “Empire State of Mind.”

Decked in all black everything, Jay-Z rocked a Brooklyn Nets fitted while he ran through his first number one hit. Jay was on hand because his Life + Times website has their own channel on Youtube and is dropping a hefty $200 million on original programming. Blue Ivy’s poppa wasn’t the only artist to perform. Flo Rida and hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari. Russell Simmons and Pharrell Williams also made appearances.
