Apple has announced the new iPad to the world, featuring a raft of new tech over the previous version including a super high-res screen. Tim Cook took the to stage to (unsurprisingly) unveil the new iPad (which seems to have dropped a suffix for the name, bringing with it a whole host of new technology.
The new iPad brings a ‘Retina Display’, which is only 264ppi in sharpness – but that’s still enough to pack in 2048 x 1536 pixels into the screen.Apps won’t need to worry about keeping their apps working on the new iPad though, as they’ll be easily scaled up (as the pixel ratios have been kept the same as the original iPad and iPhone range). There’s an A5X processor on board – which Apple is calling ‘twice as fast’ as Tegra 3, and offers four time the graphics performance of Nvidia’s chip.
