T-Pain and Lil Wayne revealed a collaborative project in 2008, called T-Wayne, but the project never came to fruition.

So what happened?

In a recent interview with Rap-Up.com, the Auto-Tune king said that when Weezy went through his various legal problems, the project came to a halt … and now, seems to be dead in the water.

“When [Wayne] got into his little trouble, that was right at the peak of when we was like, ‘OK, let’s go. Let’s do this now. Now we can do it.’ He finally had time, then he went to jail,” T-Pain told the website.

While he’s still up for it, the singer admitted that he he doesn’t think Weezy is interested anymore.

“Things happen and I’m pretty sure he’s over the whole idea now,” said Pain with a giggle. “I don’t even be bringing it up to him no more. I’m pretty sure he’s way past that right now. He’s doing big things.”

Their relationship remains intact, though. T-Pain is on the verge of inking a deal with Weezy’s Young Money label. That is after he releases rEVOLVEr, the latest under his contract with Konvict Muzik, which Akon confirmed this summer.

rEVOLVEr hit stores Tuesday (December 6). He’s even offered up a full stream of the LP (viaSoundclick), giving fans the opportunity to listen before they purchase it.
